Google maps head up display issue. When I first got my ‘21 BMW google maps turn by turn appeared on the head up display. I prefer using Waze so I dealt with not having the turn by turn appear since I could never get it to work. Now I wanted to switch to google maps and it no longer works either.
The BMW Head-Up Display system uses a small projector and a system of mirrors that beam high-contrast images onto a translucent film on the windscreen. Images are projected directly into the driver’s line of sight, and appear about two meters away, making them easy to read and process.

If I use Apply Maps with CarPlay on my ‘23 G01 M40i, I get the nice integration into the heads up display for turn-by-turn. However, with Waze this is not the case.
The same works for the reflection of the HUD - instead of tilting your head (getting away from that 90 degree angle) you rotate the HUD as much as you can tolerate so you can see it with your polarized sun glasses w/o having to tilt your head. Appreciate 1. 1230vani. 593.50.

I have a 2014 X5 with the HUD. Recently it hasn’t been working. I thought it may have to do with being in the sun (usually in the garage), and if I covered it up while parked, it would work the next time. Now though it seems that it’s just not working at all. Any thoughts? Do the HUD “go out” after while? TIA.
