when to use retarder and when to use engine brake? In real life and in game. In the game all trucks can have both (if you choose), In real life I've also seen trucks with both options.
The exhaust brake and the retarder are secondary engine brakes. The exhaust brake is generally activated during braking or manually by a separate control (generally a button on the floor). The retarder is a more powerful version that holds the engine back when desired speed is exceeded (on hills and the like). Retarders work against the enginesHow do you turn off the retarder? It says to push a key but you can't make out what that key is. It looks like a period but that key dosen't help either. Can someone help? Thanks. Check your keybinding for Retarder Increase and Retarder Decrease and just remap them to something a bit easier to deal with instead of whatever crazy key it defaults to. I use the retarder all the time to assist in slowing down the truck so I don't have to use the brake so much. Dito. #3. Moving Shadow Sep 12, 2015 @ 8:24am. When I used to play UK Truck Simulator, I used the outside view, because I actually wanted to see my truck, but found that control of my truck was pretty poor. Then when I switched to ETS2, I tried the in-cab view, and my handling improved massively, plus like Ryu, it gives a more immersive feeling. I know exhaust braking is used for example when going downhill, but I have no idea what the retarder is or when to use it. Thanks! Login Store
HCT combinations are only available through trailer ownership. I don't believe SCS will put them in the freight market because they don't want users complaining too much on how difficult it may be to drive with them. I dont really have a problem with driving a HCT. i actually quite like it. #15.65ltgf.
